Your mouse or keyboard intermittently stops responding Possible Symptoms If your mouse, keyboard or other Bluetooth device stops responding temporarily Bluetooth devices not appearing or pairing Possible Solutions Check charge Connect to Mac (if charged via Lightning cable) and check in Bluetooth preferences if unit is charging and recognized. Replace with new batteries (if applicable) and click keyboard, check Bluetooth preferences to see if unit is connecting. Click or press a key Click the mouse or trackpad or press a key on the keyboard to reconnect the device to the computer. It might take a moment for the device to respond. Check for signal interference Wireless networks that operate on 2.4GHz may cause interference. Move cordless phone base stations, microwave ovens, and other 2.4GHz electrical devices away from your Mac if you suspect interference. Keep wireless devices within 10 meters of your Mac. Avoid putting metal objects between your wireless device and your Mac. Debug Bluetooth module There may be an intermittent Bluetooth issue that may need debugging. Try holding Option + Shift and clicking the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar. You will see an option to Debug. Navigate to this and click Reset the Bluetooth module. Reset connected devices Open Bluetooth Preferences from the bluetooth icon on the menu bar or in System Preferences > Bluetooth. Hover over the affected device and click the cross button on the right side when it appears to remove the device. Reconnect the device again after it's been removed to test if the issue reoccurs.
