There are two ways to do this:

Adapter: You can use a USB-C to USB adapter, or a variety of USB-C Multiport adapters as long as it includes a USB port. You can then use the standard USB cable that was provided with your phone to connect to your Mac.

Cable: You can purchase a USB-C cable to directly charge your phone. For iPhones, you can purchase a USB-C to Lightning cable and this can be used to charge your phone from your Mac, or even directly from your Macs power adapter. This will actually charge much faster than from your Mac or standard USB 5W power adapter.
